Occupy Wall Street is a people powered movement that began on September 17, 2011 in Liberty Square in Manhattan’s Financial district.
As we all witness a system that is falling apart before our very eyes; Due to the fact that the vast majority of the money is controlled by a minimum amount of people, where money is printed out of thin air, where Wall Street, our government & corporations have backdoor deals to fill their pockets and gain power, where financial greed and money hoarding has caused the greatest recession in generations, where the people, the environment, and our resources are exploited and gambled away… In a system that is rigged, and the only people who benefit are those at the top of a giant ponzi scheme.
The Occupy Wall Street movement refuses to sit back and watch our economy, country and future be gambled into oblivion. We are standing up for our country, for ourselves, for each other, and for future generation’s rights to live in a world where everyone has equal rights and where no one is above the laws; To live in a world that is truly free from oppression and exploitation, where human value is worth more than numbers and cash symbols.
Occupy Wall Street has grown into over 100 cities within the United States and actions in over 1,200 cities worldwide.
